Land and Property Development

What are the applications?

Land and property development CAD modelling has application for the rural, urban, civic, leisure, residential, commercial and industrial environments. We create models that can be used for a variety of purposes throughout the project life cycle, especially to generate powerful photorealistic visualisations of an area of interest. The resulting 3D CAD models can also be used for other purposes:

  • drawing & document management systems
  • contract tendering
  • internet web display
  • exhibition / kiosk display
  • meeting / conference room display on LCD / Plasma screen
  • corporate/business reception display on LCD / Plasma screen

What we do

For larger schemes, we can obtain appropriately scaled ordnance survey maps with which a contoured landform model is created as illustrated in the sample animation. Crude block representations of buildings and objects can be inserted to provide results which, even at this conceptual stage, provide powerful images that provide a platform conveying scale and purpose providing a medium for further creative inspiration and ideas.

To develop and enhance the model a stage further, we then replace block representations, with 3D CAD Architectural & Building models , objects (such as trees, street furniture, people) and further local topographical survey data as required. This is an iterative process and once finalised, the model and resulting 4D CAD animation can be rendered to incorporate the required material and textures.

It should be noted that ordnance survey maps are not always an essential starting point. It is possible to use client existing 2D drawings and use these together with survey data to generate the required 3D model.
